Hey everyone,
I decided to do an end of the year roundup blog, just to talk about my thoughts on the past year for me. This was what I consider the first year of the rest of my life, and its tough.
In most of the first-half of the year, I finished my second-year at community college, and at that point, I was done with school and wanted to take a break from it and get a job for the first time. Cut several months later to now and no progress on that front. I applied to different places and never really heard from them, or at least until a couple months later to be denied, wasn't even sure if I was even doing things right. But any who, that's that. I intend to finish and get my associates for the next Fall Semester in 2020, and from there, perhaps continue my education in animation or change majors. Other than that, I need to learn to drive and get my license. A lot of places I apply to ask for that and I didn't get it when I was first able to. My future is looking cloudy right now, but I'm hoping my luck would turn around and I get my shit together.
But to go on a high note, I'd say I didn't completely squander my time. I spent the year drawing, building a portfolio of amateur art. Not counting the crappy comic, I've posted 29+ images (some of which have been deleted) and one "proper" animation (not counting that half-assed 3d animation). I consider this past year in art successful in some capacity. I developed my art style, all the while having a lot of room to improve and experiment. I have a slew of ideas that I want to draw and materialize for you all, and in time, it will come in some way. I know no one is really looking for new art from me, but I am dedicated to make them. I hope for this next year, I get more eyes drawn towards the page and that I evolve from my simple art, to something to match my ideas. I also hope to get more involved in the community. I've always been very shy on the internet, never really posting anything to the forum or commenting on a post. That I want to change, so that these months don't feel like a lonely slog.
Anyways, thanks for reading through this whoever you are. I know not a lot of people would read this, I just wanted to get my thoughts out in the ether, kind of my way of venting, so it's good to know that someone felt the need to read through this. I hope you've been having an awesome and brilliant holiday season, and I'll see you in the 2020's. Love Ya!
